Back End Developer

Web Advanced is looking for an exceptional individual who is passionate about technology and enjoys the variety of working on greenfield projects and with well known brands. An ideal candidate would be very strong in development, be capable of developing entire websites in a team or solo, be able to communicate with our team and clients, and excited to advance the field.

Core Job Functions / Responsibilities

We have a strong team including designers, front-end developers, and project coordinators who will all be working with you to deliver world class websites from our office in Irvine, CA.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Developing complex web applications for our clients, including brand names that run resort theme parks, are leaders in medical technologies, and make products that you can find at Home Depot.
• Assisting with the wireframe and specification process to ensure solutions can be implemented in scope.
• Help choose the next set of technologies for Web Advanced. Our clients are open about using leading edge technologies.
• Assist more junior associates and help train them in newer technologies.
• Create standards-based websites using the best tools, including modern C# code, .NET Core, and MVC, and work closely with skilled Front End developers to create amazing results.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in software development
• Strong expertise in C# including newer language features
• Experience with design patterns and anti-patterns
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC v3-v4
• Ability to listen to clients’ needs and help define technical solutions
• Expertise working with frameworks which provide abstractions on top of AJAX APIs, e.g. Angular
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to generate high quality code
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Bachelors degree or higher
• Position requires significant time on the computer (keyboarding, mouse clicking), making phone calls, participating in meetings, and some travel to client sites for meetings (<20% of time). We do not staff employees at client sites - all work is done in house.

Pluses

• Experience with ORMs (NHibernate/Entity Framework 4)
• Some experience with DevOps type work - Server installation, configuration, etc.
• Experience writing CSS (especially BEM style) with LESS or SASS
